About the 1st Generation Club

The 1st Generation Club promotes a sense of community and support. The purpose of our club is to develop and establish additional support for first generation students, who have no or very little family collegiate history and are entering into college with limited knowledge about traditions and patterns of college life and academia.

Being first-generation is a very proud accomplishment. We recognize that you will face unique experiences as you begin this exciting journey, and we look forward to supporting you and bringing together the first-generation UNLV community!
What is a first generation Student?
A first-generation college student is defined as a student whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have not completed a bachelor's degree. This means that you are the first in your family to attend a four-year college/university to attain a bachelor's degree.
